This is the illustrate of monk holding Talipot Fan in which talipot fan is the focusing point. The client required the illustrate to be black and white color with a little bit realistic to it.

Since the talipot fan is the focusing point, I decided to use black color and black outline only at the talipot to emphasize it.

Talipot fan is used in Buddhism funeral by monk.

I tried to make it goes along with the perspective of the cartoon map but as you can see, the perspective of cartoon map is a bit hard to see so I hope I made it ok.

Another of feature for cartoon map. This time it is a thai style pavilion which use as a stage for thai dance.

I spend a lot of time making sure that the pavilion is the same perspective with the rest of cartoon map. In fact, I think I spent too much time.

Here is other feature for cartoon map. This time is stray dog. Why stray dog? Because I have to make this cartoon map has the feeling of Thailand and in Thailand there is a lot of stray dogs.

My boss, at that time, said that since this is a stray dog I have to draw his ribs to be seen clearly. But I don't want too!!! I felt so sorry that I had to make him that thin ( you can call me crazy)!! I mean he can be thin without seeing his ribs and he's already, really, thin in the image that I drew!!. It's too cruel to make him any thinner but my boss insisted so I had to do it. BUT!!! This is my blog and when I use this image as a port folio I always use the version without seeing ribs.

So, here it is. Stray dog without seeing ribs.

Okay... umm... it is very long time since I last posted.. Thing is I've been very busy with my life.. like my master degree and works. I had worked in a company and quitted. Now, since my career is teaching and freelancer, I have a bit more time to work on digital painting and my blog!!

As the header of this post said, this is the feature, such as; characters and stuff, that I added to the existing cartoon map which belong to the Soi Sanook company that I had worked awhile for in Thailand.

The hard things about adding feature is that I have to make sure that my features go a long to the rest of the image, like style of artwork and perspective.

This belong to one of project from my class. It started from 1 keyword, street. This short essay is how I got the idea for my work;

" It’s the midday so the heat is extremely cruel. As I was stuck in the middle of the road because of the famous traffic jam of Bangkok, I found out that the heat wasn’t that cruel like in ten minutes before. So I look up through the window of the car that I was in and see the giant shade over my car and several cars in that area. The first thought that rush into my mind was this shade must belong to the really big tree but after I notice more about the giant thing upon my head it turns to be the station of skytrain that provide me the shade just like trees usually do. But if it’s tree, it must be really gigantic one and it’s also capable to take us to many different place, since we can go to different place by this concrete enormous tree then we must be able to learn many things from it too. It stands tall, high and huge and connects to many place, gather many knowledge just like the Yggdrasil, the legendary tree."

In case you want to know, Yggdrasil is the legendary tree from Norse Mythology. It's the giant that connects 3 worlds of heaven, human world and hell, together and it also the places where knowledge from 3 worlds is gather there.

So I started to work with photo manipulation technique and create artworks of the merging between skytrain station and tree.

These are first 2 images that I created. People in my class quite like these images but for me, I don't really like it that much because I think it looks too much like some post card so I created a new one.

I quite like this image. It likes it is saying to the audience "Welcome to Hell" which I really like it because it's not just some picture of some beautiful view and nice perspective that will be a good post card for souvenir but it is an image that will be able to speak to the audience too.

One of my best painting. I got grand prix for this one. It's for "The Philips Children Art Competitions 21st, 2003. By the theme "400 Years of Relationship Between Thailand And Netherlands".

This painting is about political event. This contest is"The Artwork of October 14th, The Democracy Day". The theme is "Democracy in people's heart". The prize that I got is first runner up prize.

It is "Illustrated Stamp Competition, 2004" by the theme "Imagination in Stamp". I got first prize for this one.

This is the one of my most favorite painting. It's for "Freedom Refill Card Contest 2004".

This painting, I named it "Enlighten". I think it really suit the image. It's for "Toshiba Thai Annual: Bring Good Things To Life".

I'm learning to use Maya right now I think it's not that hard but it's so complicate.

Anyway, I still really want to learn to use it well.

Spaceship for Maya class at university. I know the spaceship is the basic model that everyone that learn to use Maya can do it but this image still be my most favorite image anyway.

Interior Design by using Maya. This is for Maya class at my university. There are 3 images of this room. I just like these image so that I can't decided which one is the best so I submit them all.

I try to make this looks like a graveyard of weapon that indicate the place is a battlefield. I know if it's a graveyard then the weapons suppose to be old but I want to show that the battle is not over and it's keep going. I just don't want an image of full battlefield with men fight each other or something like that.

White Forest

This is from one of my project about color at my university.

The project is to choose a song, verse, poem that mention color and make some image that can present the song.

The verse that I choose is:

The song is "My Last Breath" by Evanescence

I interpret the phrase "Look for me in the white forest hiding in a hollow tree" as spiritual forest not just a winter forest since she is dying and her soul will always be waiting.

So I make the image of the white forest that gives the feeling of loneliness and spiritual with a woman in old gothic dress standing, like waiting (I really like gothic dress, I think it can represent spiritual nicely).

Photo Manipulation I : Game Addiction

These are all from my Thesis project. The concept come from that I really like to play game a lot so this work is presenting my addicted.

The work itself present the world that I wish it to be, the world that fantasy things is there from the beginning.

I just want story, experience in game happend to me in the real world.

Because of the concept and the way I present my work, this is funny and crazy project so does my works.

This is my final artwork for this project. The real one that I use is really big. It's 6x3 meter. I printed it really big because I want the feeling that this image is the world that fantasy exist not just some image with fantasy.

I decided to let my figure dress normally because I want to maintain the personality that people don't think that I play game this much.

The letter on my dress is flip because that isn't me that living in the real world, it's me in my imagination world. The idea of flip the letter is like the idea of mirror.

If you stand next to the work and rephotograph it, it will look like you are really in that world which is something that I think it's really cool.

The rest are the images that I make in the process to find my final artwork.
